He serves as one of the lead researchers in SECONOMICS project at the University of Trento. Trained as a social scientist and economist, he completed PhD at the Department of Telecommunications, Information Studies and Media at Michigan State University working under Dr. Johannes Bauer. He holds M.A. in economics from Seoul National University, Korea. After time as a senior researcher at Synthesys, Inc., Michigan, U.S., he joined the University of Trento in 2012. His research covers a wide range of topics related to security economics, innovation in information and communication technology industries (ICT), security business models for national and global players, as well as the public policy and governance issues for utilizing the full benefits of ICT for society. Much of his work is international and comparative in scope. His current work focuses on understanding and developing a social and economic framework that can characterize information technology, and looking at how the motivations and incentives of economic players can lead to social optimum.
