Course work Description

This document describes the Project to be completed by the students who are taking the module CSCW in the academic year 2012/13. The course-work is designed around hard deadlines and accounts for 50% of the final mark.

Learning outcomes

The course-work is designed to give students first-hand experience of the design and evaluation of an online community. The project includes both individual and group activities. Students are exposed to typical group work dynamics, and will learn how to share information and co-ordinate activities. Furthermore, they will learn how to present their findings and co-ordinate a design team.

Time scale

The project will be conducted in semester 2 starting on March 13 2013. It includes 3 deliverables.

D1. Setting up an effective team. (10% of project mark)

Deadline: March 25, 17 PM.

The first task is aimed at setting up the socio-technical infrastructure for the project. It includes 4 activities.

Report — Maximum two A4 pages reporting a critical reflection on the activities. Use the following questions as guide in the exercise:
