He is currently an
Assistant Professor at the University of Trento, Italy where
since 2002 he teaches at Engineering Faculty
and he does research in Data Mining, Machine Learning,
Statistical Reasoning, Radial Basis Function Networks and Cognitive Science at
the Department of Information and Telecommunication Technologies (DIT).
In 2004-2006 he was the coordinator of Data Mining and
Learning Systems research program at DIT, University of Trento. In 2000
- 2002 years he worked as an assistant professor
at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of
Turin. In 1997 - 2000 he worked as researcher
at L’ITC-IRST of Trento. He received laurea
with laude in Electronic Engineering from the University of Bologna,
Italy in 1992 and PhD degree in Cognitive Science from
the Polytechnic University of Turin, Italy in 1998.
His major research interests are
among the others in the machine learning field and particularly in
application of machine learning techniques to data mining. He
contributes to the development of new machine learning techniques
and its application to various fields, in particular Medicine,
Tourism, Structural Engineering, Interaction in Net, Cognitive
Sciences, Biology, etc. He published more than 50 refereed
scientific publications. He is a member of the scientific committee
at the international conference of Case Based Reasoning.
