Matteo Lissandrini is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Computer Science at Aalborg University.

Matteo received his PhD from the University of Trento (Italy) with a thesis on exploratory search for information graphs. He was also a member of the DbTrento research group.

He has been visiting researcher at the HP Labs in Palo Alto, California in 2013, and at the Cheriton School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 2014.

He has also been teaching assistant in the Database Management System and Information Systems course at the University of Trento.

He received his Msc in Computer Science at the University of Trento in 2012.

Research Topics:

He has been researching on Exploratory Methods for Data Analytics, and in particular on Exemplar Queries.

His research interests include also data mining, especially on knowledge graphs, analysis of user generated content from the social media, and advanced models for event detection and profiling.

Other interests intersect advanced web technologies, web standards and user-centered web development.

He has also served as external reviewer for many important conferences in the fields of database technologies, data management, data mining, and information retrieval, in particular: WSDM'13, WWW'13, WWW'14, EDBT'14, EDBT'15, ICDE'15, VLDB'15, ICDE'16, TKDE, EDBT'18, and ICDE'18.

Among other activities he has been the lead Web designer & developer for the C4C European project, and he was the seed contributor in the development of the 2010 version of the Ubuntu Loco website template.
