Research
My research interests include distributed computing, object-oriented
distributed programming, fault-tolerance, peer-to-peer and gossip protocols. My main goal is to develop protocols and
systems that survive: to failures, to dynamism, to adversarial environments. During my Ph.D. years, and
slightly after, my interest was on reliable group communication systems; in these days, I'm exploring the
potentiality of gossip protocols in large-scale, dynamic distributed systems.

Algorithms and Data Structures book
In Summer 2009, I've been asked to
cooperate in a new edition of the Alan Bertossi's book "Algoritmi e Strutture di Dati" (in italian). On May 2010, the
book is out, edited by Tecniche Nuove - De Agostini Scuola. If you are interested, there is a web site where you can find slides, additional exercises and educational
software related to the book.
Running - biking - hiking
I'm an amateur runner (best marathon time: 4h 12',
best half-marathon time: 1h 48') and I like to ride my mountain bike; unfortunately I don't hike/climb as much I
would like. In this page I share some of my experiences, mapped through my faithful Garmin
305.
