F. Granelli was coordinator for the University of Trento of two Erasmus Mundus Cooperation Window projects: ISAC and EUBRANEX. Mobility between Europe and Brazil involves several students, at B.Sc., Ph.D., PostDoc levels, and also faculty members.
Collaboration with the State University of Campinas (Brazil) is currently very active with exchange of students and faculties. In 2004 and 2007, Prof. Nelson Fonseca gave a PhD course on "Queueing Theory and Performance Evaluation" at DISI, while Prof. Granelli gave a M.Sc. course on "TCP over wireless".
PhD student Deepak Agrawal spent 3 months in Campinas (May-July 2004). Currently, collaboration resulted in 3 joint paper publications in Computer Networks, ICC2005 and ICC2007 and 2 book chapters.
F. Granelli was co-advisor of a M.Sc. student at UNICAMP, Daniel Macedo Batista.
In 2005, Prof. Mike Devetsikiotis gave a PhD course on "Advanced Simulation Techniques for Communication Networks" in Trento (June 2005), while in 2008 he's giving a PhD course on "Service Oriented Networking". Current joint research activities are focused on formal methods for cross-layer modeling.
From 2011, University of Trento Faculty of Engineering and North Carolina State University signed a Memorandum of Understanding to foster didactical and scientific cooperation between the two institutes.
Ongoing collaboration is focused on smart grid communications, focused on modeling and design. Contact person is Prof. George Michailidis.
Dzmitry Kliazovich, PhD student at my lab, spent a 6-months period abroad at UCLA, under the supervision of Prof. Mario Gerla. Collaboration resulted in one paper published on IEEE EuroNGI 2006 and one paper published on Computer Networks journal.
A joint mobility proposal is currently active between DISI - UniTN and Tokyo University of Technology in the framework of performance enhancement of wireless networks. Contact person in Japan is Prof. T. Tsuboi.
A joint M.Sc. thesis was prepared by Mr. Cavalieri, under the supervision of Prof. Jondral.
