SmartCampus
The SmartCampus project aims to develop and evaluate innovative IT platforms and services which will support all people in their everyday life and the operations of those institutions involved in a research campus.
These services cover a wide range of needs: from functional requirements of students and researchers in terms of education or transportation, to hedonic needs related to social cohesion, well-being and spirituality. The services will be integrated within mobile and web-based technology.
Our ultimate goal is to offer services to individuals while fostering a lively and self-supporting community (both on- and off-line), which can autonomously evolve through End-User Development of new services.
The approach includes participatory design, user research iterating evaluations at different stage ending in a large-scale field study analysing mobile and web-based behaviour of students and researchers in the campus. The project is grounded on the vision of Trentino as a large living territorial laboratory.
