Welcome to the homepage of Aliaksandr Birukou
Aliaksandr Birukou is currently a Publication Manager at the European Alliance for Innovation, where he tries to improve scholarly publishing by leveraging on the lessons from the LiquidPub project. He received his PhD in Information and Communication Technologies from the University of Trento, Italy in 2009 and an MS degree with distinction in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the Belarusian State University, Minsk, Belarus in 2002. His current research interests include dissemination of novel scientific and teaching media formats, science 2.0 (improving the way science works), patterns. He has background in service-oriented computing, diversity-, culture- and community-aware recommendation systems, data mining, multi-agent systems, compliance management, queuing systems.
He is a PC member and the Focus Group chair for EuroPLoP 2011, served as a PC member for several international workshops, and reviewed papers for several journals (IEEE Software, Frontiers in Computational Neuroscience, JAAMAS, IEEE TKDE, DKE, IJAOSE, IP&P) and a number of conferences (including AAMAS, CAISE, ICCBR, ICSOC).
He also has professional experience in managing research/industrial projects, software development and banking. Before starting his PhD, for almost four years he has been working in industry and his projects were successfully deployed in several Belarusian banks.
