Getting Started

• Use Window.
• Go to Start, then to All Programs, then to SWI-Prolog, then to Prolog.
• You should then see something like this on your screen:

  "Welcome to SWI-Prolog (Multi-threaded, Version 5.4.4) Copyright (c) 1990-2003 University of Amsterdam. SWI-Prolog comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it under certain conditions. Please visit http://www.swi-prolog.org for details.

  For help, use ?- help(Topic). or ?- apropos(Word)."

• ?- is called the prompt
• You can now send commands and queries to the Prolog interpreter by typing them in after the prompt.
• For example, type listing. (don't forget the full stop at the end) and press 'return'.
• You should get something like:
  true.
