In the digital society, some credentials must be provided in order to access services and resources, and personal data are required to obtain such capabilities. A complete profile of each person can be reconstructed by relating the information available at different service providers with the identity of their owner. In this way, the individual has no control over its own personal data. The anonymity providing systems offer the possibility to hide the identity of the actors without preventing them from achieving their goals. In this seminar, we provide a discussion about such systems and how anonymous credentials can be managed: the general problem is stated, some examples are shown, and several solutions suggested in the literature are presented, taking into account their limitations.
