Project astract Aim of this research is to design photosensors to be integrated in a standard CMOS technology and enabling photocurrent modulation as a function of the bias voltage: these devices will form the sensitive core of the active pixel imagers under development at ITC-irst for 3D vision systems. Different structures of photon mixing devices will be investigated and simulated, with emphasis on the electro-optical properties attainable in different light wavelength and modulation frequency conditions, according to the systems specifications defined by ITC-irst.
