Project astract A first goal of the activity is the study of traffic models appropriate to represent grid computing generated loads on an optical infrastructure. A second objective the establishment of design guidelines for a resource allocation architecture that, considering the traffic models and the service primitives provided by lower layers, maps communication requestes to appropriate resources.<br/>Traffic modelling plays a key role, because it allows insight and prediction of the network behaviour and quality of service (QoS).
