Project astract The project is about the study of methodologies and methods for the optimization of the logistics decision processes and, in particular, it covers two main aspects of logistics: inbound logistics and outbound logistics. The main goals of the projects are:<br/>- identify the main needs about the logistics planning services;<br/>- define and study of the main problems related to the identified needs; <br/>- model the cost elements associated to the logistics solutions; <br/>- study of the available technology; <br/>- define the methodology; <br/>- develop of a tools to support the decision process; <br/>- develop of a platform that integrate tools and the methodology.<br/> <br/>On the base of these results the project will propose guidelines for the real application of the platform. The methodology and the platform will be tested on a real case study. <br/><br/>The university will be in charge for the following two activities: <br/><br/>1) Early requirements analysis <br/>The objective of this activity will be the analysis of the organization model in which the system-to-be will work. This includes the definition and the analysis of both the environment models and the system model. The i* conceptual framework will be used as modeling language <br/>2) Semantic modeling <br/>In this activity the university will develop a knowledge management system based on a goal-oriented approach. This will include the semantic goal model for the case study and the develop of a prototype for the evaluation of the approach. The system will be used as a knowledge support for the users involved in the decision process and will be integrated to the main platform. <br/><br/>
