Project astract Ambient Intelligence is a broad term identifying ICT applications whose aim is the improvement of the usability of the<br/>environment. While many of these applications aim at improving the quality of life of people and at improving the<br/>usability aspects of these new applications in order to expand considerably the base of potential users, all these<br/>applications share a common feature, being potentially very intrusive. The intrusive character of these applications<br/>raises important questions about their social acceptability and the potential erosion of consumer�������¢����������������s�������¢���������������� privacy that is<br/>recognized and protected today by several legal frameworks. This project blends technical, social and legal research<br/>in investigating the impact of Ambient Intelligence on human life and in directing the technical solutions towards legally and socially acceptable directions.\nSPES will provide a framework and a methodology supporting the design<br/>of privacy mechanisms at different level of organizations from the definition high level business processes to the<br/>specification of the technical guidelines for implementations. The conceptual framework will include not only technical<br/>requirement but also the requirements provided by the social and the legal studies of the project.\nTo make the<br/>project more concrete and to guide the intuition the SPES project will leverage on other project in which UNITN is<br/>involved and namely the EU Integrated Project SERENITY and the DISCREET Project.
